Howdy, flippers!
Clocks fall back this Sunday, Nov 1, at 2 AM. That's one free extra hour, and I can't think of a better use for it than one more lap around a yard sale. Grab your coffee, your cash, and a tarp, because Alabama weather has opinions. Let's go.
🛠️ This Week's Flip Tip: Flip for the Guest Room Rush
Here's the seasonal angle: Thanksgiving and Christmas company is coming, and folks suddenly notice their guest room is a treadmill, three boxes and a lamp with no shade. That's when people go hunting for the pieces that make a room feel like a room.
Hunt the guest room basics. Nightstands, small dressers, dining chairs, end tables and mirrors. Small pieces fit in the car, sell to more buyers, and don't need a cousin with a truck.
Solid wood beats shiny. Pull a drawer and look at the joints. Good bones with ugly paint is a flip. Pretty paint on particleboard is a mattress-store dresser in disguise.
List it like a gift for the host. Stage it with a lamp and a folded throw, and say "ready for holiday guests" in your listing. You're not selling a nightstand, you're selling "Aunt Linda won't complain this year."
Check sold listings before you pay. Same rule as always. If the math doesn't work, it's not a deal, it's a hobby.
Good news: this weekend's sales are loaded with furniture, so you've got plenty of hunting ground.
